Polish Constitution of May 3rd, 1791
Polish Constitution Day, celebrated every year on May 3rd, honors the adoption of the Constitution of 1791 - the first modern constitution in Europe and a landmark expression of political courage and national renewal. For Poles, this day symbolizes a profound commitment to liberty, enlightened reform, and the enduring hope of sovereignty during eras when the nation's very existence was threatened. Though the Constitution remained in force only briefly, its legacy sustained generations through partitions, occupation, and struggle, becoming a powerful emblem of resilience and the belief that a just, independent Poland would rise again. And Rise She Did!
Another important day in May is May 2nd - Polish Diaspora Day, which honors the millions of Poles living outside Poland. It's a recognition of their contributions to Polish culture, history, and the global Polish community.

A Mother's Day Poem
In every gentle act of care,
In every quiet prayer you say,
Your love becomes a guiding light
That carries us from day to day.
A steady strength, a tender grace -
A gift no words can quite convey.
Today we honor all you are,
And all you give, in every way.
You light the world - Happy Mother's Day.
Monday, May 25th - Memorial Day 2026
On Monday, May 25th we honor and remember the men and women of the armed forces who died in service to our country. The holiday began after the Civil War, when communities across the country started decorating the graves of fallen soldiers with flowers - hence the original name Decoration Day. After World War I, the day expanded to honor all American service members who died in any war. In 1971, Congress established Memorial Day as a federal holiday and fixed its observance to the last Monday in May. Memorial Day serves not only as a time of reflection and gratitude but also as a reminder of the cost of freedom and the courage of those who defend it.
